Capsule Bio: About Alan Gerstle Alan's Picture My educational background includes an M.A. (Columbia University), Ph.D. (New York University) additional graduate studies LaSalle University (certificate in Counseling Psychology) Certifications include the following: Certified Social Worker (State of New Jersey), Certificado de Estudios Avancados (Virginia). In the publishing business, I've worked as a reader and editor for the Writers’ Literary Agency (New York); content editor for McGraw-Hill and Prentice Hall; fiction and non-fiction editor for the magazine DOJ. My writing life includes publication of fiction, essays, and poetry; four books; and original plays produced in New York and Chicago. Teaching experience includes the following: Full-time college teacher at Drexel University (PA), Montgomery College (MD), and John Jay College of the City University of New York (NY).
