10 reasons I’m a new type of ghostwriter

  1. I am a perfectionist. I will make sure what you get is error-free and stylistically superior to nearly any other person in the field. If you want evidence, look at ghostwriter websites and look at their sample writings.
  2. I have the ability to get inside your head and understand what you want to say and how you want to say it, and proceed to do so.
  3. I will give you updates as you need them, and answer any questions you have along the way.
  4. If I’m assigned to write a proposal, I will provide you with the best argument for what you are offering to do, whether it’s publishing a book or creating a major arts complex.
  5. I won’t tell you I will provide you with the secrets of success, or about my contacts in the publishing industry, or mislead you about your chances of getting your work published (if that’s what you want to do). You can learn how to approach agents and publishers in about one hour. It isn’t rocket science.
  6. I won’t brag about my clients, my awards, about whom I had dinner with last night. Some people might be impressed by such things. I’m not and I don’t see why anyone should.
  7. I can write in academic prose or down-to-earth street language. You need someone to help you sound like a character from the The Sopranos? I can do that. Your natural communication style is out of Frazier? I can do that too.
  8. I have been and still am a writer. I write my own work and publish regularly. I keep up-to-date on the world, and have a blog with frequent entries on the world of writing and the world in general (I don’t think you can separate one from the other).
  9. I can write on a broad range of topics: from why your town needs a new art museum to how you built a multi-billion dollar corporation from scratch.
  10. I don’t offer any gimmicks or a "free prize inside" as Seth Godin, the marketing "guru" claims you need to be successful.

Plus two extras: I can do photojournalism work. You can see a portfolio of my photographs upon request. I can translate Spanish to English, or take on an assignment that requires fluency in both languages.
