The Journalist

I once told a celebrity ghostwriter of my interest in becoming one, and she advised me against it. “You have your own distinct voice,” she said. “I don’t think you would do well adopting another’s.” She was half right. Yes, I do have a distinctive voice. Take a look at my writing samples, but I also have the ability to find your voice as I have for policy makers, politicians, physicians, businessmen, and artists.

But as a journalist, I still write my own work under my own name when I write essays, fiction and conduct interviews. Journalism has also helped me develop another skill: meeting people from a wide range of backgrounds, cultures, ideologies, and perspectives. I’m as comfortable in the trenches as I am in the corporate corridors.
